WritingOne of my dreams is to become a published science fiction author, and I've been working towards that dream for over five-and-a-half years. Below you'll find brief descriptions of a few of my projects. DestalisDestalis is my first novel, and it's my largest project at around 192,000 words. I based it on a story I wrote in middle school. So far it's gone through four major revisions (with a fifth on the way) after being reviewed by two separate critique groups. Lynn Satarina is an orphaned amnesiac who obsesses over her missing past. She's an inquisitive student of philosophy who becomes an unwitting galactic icon. Her quest to reclaim her past and liberate her home world will threaten to unravel the very fabric of existence. Beyond Cloud NineBeyond Cloud Nine is my second novel. I began and finished rougly the first third of it in December 2008 and January 2009. It's likely to be about half as long as Destalis. Brooke Davis is a fighter pilot waging battles on multiple fronts: against a deeply interwoven conspiracy within the United Nations, against mysterious extraterrestrial assailants, and against her own emotional turmoil. OtherI have written and am writing a number of things currently. I'm working on Goodbye, Mars, a novelette about a man who travels across the galaxy in search of his childhood sweetheart, and an as-yet untitled short story set in Saint Louis. Why is a short piece about a wife grieving over the absence of her husband. The short story Smaze's Science Project stars an alien teenager who obsesses about the cutest girl in his class and accidentally creates something amazing for his science project.
